What is the opportunity? This is an opportunity to work at RBC Insurance Active Data Platform team with a group of technology specialists dedicated to delivering solutions to Insurance business and clients. We are all in with Agile development, DevOps, Open Source, Software as a Service (SaaS) and modern tools and processes. You will have an opportunity to make a real difference by working on some impactful and meaningful projects. What will you do? Partner with the RBC Insurance Data Office to understand the project requirements in order to begin design/build and implement solutions leveraging appropriate infrastructure (new or existing). Customise CMS platforms and build websites and web applications using CMS platforms including WordPress and Adobe CMS. Work closely with business in managing the website content effectively, designing and implementing new features, functionality, establishing and guiding the website’s architecture and managing all technical aspects of the CMS including performance and capacity measurements. Follow coding best practice, ensure code quality, performance, conduct code reviews ensuring our applications are scalable, testable and maintainable. Collaborate with other team members. Ensure the operating efficiency of existing application systems, maintain records for the documentation of systems development and revisions. Stay current and competitive by keeping up to date with the latest platform capabilities, security, performance and industry trends. Own the application, lead the production implementation process, participate in post‑implementation reviews, share knowledge and support the applications in production. Monitor production website performance and proactively identify issues. What do you need to succeed? Must Have Working experience designing and implementing websites using WordPress (with Gutenberg) and managing sites with WPVIP. In‑depth knowledge of front‑end programming languages including PHP, HTML, CSS (Tailwind framework), JavaScript. Technical Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) experience – understands concepts and the importance of redirects, meta tags, site speed/core web vitals, canonicals. Good understanding of website architecture and aesthetics. Clear articulation and communication with business partners and other IT teams. Team player who shares knowledge through technical demos and documentation. Strong understanding of GenAI tools and/or agents used to assist in application development (GitHub Co‑pilot, Windsurf, Claude Code). Nice to Have Technical knowledge of Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) – understands concepts and how GenAI search can impact marketing sites. Knowledge of common GenAI technologies and implementation patterns. Knowledge of modern SaaS platforms for SRE, platform analytics, monitoring, UX, and management. Knowledge of DevOps and code versioning tools including Git, GitHub Actions. What’s in it for you?
