Project Overview The Pickering Nuclear Generating Station refurbishment program involves designing and building a new deep‑water intake in Lake Ontario to improve the plant’s cooling system. Key elements include: 5‑km‑long tunnel built by a pressurized TBM (10.15 m diameter slurry TBM) Two vertical shafts (onshore and offshore) An offshore modular intake structure resting on the lake bed Responsibilities Manage the in‑tunnel, LU/LO and surface monitoring teams Ensure accurate acquisition of data Collect all monitoring data in time for daily review Program data for the tunnel guidance software Liaise with JV SCL Engineering team and the client regarding daily monitoring reports and queries Develop junior members of staff within the team Attend daily SRG (Shift Review Group) meetings as required and report back to the team Manage resources and equipment available to the team for monitoring activities Organise additional survey resources when required to cover additional works instructed by the client Demonstrate a personal commitment to safety Participate in continuous improvement initiatives Contribute to the sustainability agenda Qualifications Degree in Geomatics, Civil Engineering, Surveying, or a related field 10 years of experience in construction surveying, preferably in heavy‑civil works with tunnel or underground projects Extensive knowledge of SCL tunnel monitoring, construction & surveying Strong experience managing a large team across split locations Experience with monitoring systems, geodetic & geotechnical Very good knowledge of computer systems and modern survey equipment with data transmission Excellent communication and teamwork skills, capable of working in multidisciplinary and multicultural project environments A proactive, field‑oriented mindset with strong problem‑solving capabilities Experience working in nuclear‑regulated environments is an asset Benefits Annual gross compensation ranging from CAD 110,000 to CAD 130,000, depending on experience and profile 4 vacation weeks & 3 emergency/sickness days paid; annual bonus Group Health Insurance (premium participation including virtual health care system) A cosmopolitan and inclusive work environment Attractive and challenging project Mindset We Value A desire to contribute to meaningful change Fresh, innovative thinking A strong appetite for learning and continuous improvement The ability to adapt and take on new challenges About VINCI Construction Grands Projets: VINCI Construction Grands Projets Canada is a subsidiary of VINCI Group, involved in large‑scale construction and civil engineering projects in Canada.
