Position The Production Manager assumes accountability for leading a portion of an operation or a shift in the De Havilland MRO. The Production Manager has direct accountability for the production functions on a daily/weekly basis and serves as a direct liaison between direct employees/supervision and the Operations Manager or the Director of Maintenance. The Production Manager is accountable for ensuring the execution of the short-term objectives for the team. Responsibilities Provide leadership to ensure the team remains aligned to short-term goals and achieves daily/weekly/monthly targets. Ensure supervisors enforce all health and safety policies/procedures; support and resource health and safety activities including meetings, investigations, audits, etc. Ensure direct staff and supervisors remain compliant with applicable regulations (including Transport Canada), standards and laws. Ensure employees have required initial and recurrent training as directed by the organization. Establish and reinforce positive, respectful, transparent communications and interactions. Ensure the team has executable action plans to complete daily/weekly tasks and monitor risks, delays, and issues on a daily basis. Ensure appropriate resources are available for planned work tasks. Escalate operational risks, delays, and other issues to an appropriate level of management. Maintain awareness of employee pulse and ensure culture aligns with organizational direction; report issues as required. Additional Accountabilities Ensure explicit, understood metrics are defined and communicated to the operational team. Provide daily and weekly updates on work progress to plan or mitigation plans. Ensure supervisors provide support, training and development; manage performance; apply progressive discipline when needed; implement performance improvement plans as required. Ensure the team is resourced to execute the work plans. Provide recommendations to improve processes and performance in the operation. Qualifications Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Aviation / Aerospace or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid M1 or M2 license an asset. 4+ years in progressively responsible aviation / aerospace leadership roles, preferably in a manufacturing or aerostructures environment. Experience coaching and supervising front-line employees and supervisors/crew chiefs an asset. Experience in continuous improvement initiatives/programs. Strong planning and troubleshooting skills. Experience in facilitating meetings, training, etc. an asset. Eligible to attain and hold Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC).
