Job Summary Canadian Hearing Services (CHS) has an opening for a Hearing Care Counsellor‑Ethno based in Toronto. Reporting to the Supervisor, Hearing Care Counselling, the Hearing Care Counsellor‑Ethno will provide individual counselling, support, and case management for eligible Hearing Care Counselling (HCC) clients (age 55 and up, hard of hearing or deaf) within targeted ethno‑specific groups. Key Details Position: Permanent, full‑time, Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Salary: $71,088.61 Responsibilities Provide individual counselling, support, and case management to eligible elderly clients in languages other than English. Evaluate hearing loss utilizing audiometers and scope devices, and instruct clients on use, care and maintenance of hearing aids and assistive listening devices. Liaise and consult with other counsellors, agencies and service providers to promote client independence and empowerment. Manage a varied workload with competing priorities and deadlines in a pressurized environment. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Social Services (e.g., social work, gerontology) or related field. 3–5 years of counselling experience with the elderly in a language other than English (another language is necessary). Proven knowledge and experience in the hearing loss field. Legal & Compliance CHS requires you to be legally eligible for employment in Canada.
