About Vista Projects Vista Projects is an integrated industrial engineering firm that helps clients navigate the digital transformation of their projects and operations. Our proven project execution process is based on a “single source of truth” model that eliminates the potential for inefficient engineering designs, cost overruns and project completion delays. Responsibilities Perform pipe stress analyses for static and dynamic loading conditions using CAESAR II and AutoPIPE stress analysis software. Develop piping stress models, calculations, and reports in accordance with project specifications, codes, and standards. Perform flexibility analyses for critical piping systems to ensure system integrity and compliance with ASME B31.3 and CSA Z662 Codes as applicable. Be familiar with the stress analysis of SAGD pipelines per CSA Z662. Perform visual inspections and approve non‑critical lines. Calculate sustained, expansion and occasional (wind, seismic, relief, etc.) stress, thermal displacement, operating and hydrotest loads. Select appropriate pipe supports such as shoes, guides, line stops, hangers, base supports, trunnions, dummy supports. Select spring supports and other engineered pipe supports, such as sway braces and snubbers, and issue data sheets. Communicate results of the stress analysis to other design disciplines and recommend design improvements. Work in the team environment to resolve complex piping stress related issues. Conduct local stress evaluations using FEA tools such as NozzlePro to assess: Local nozzle stresses Pipe wall stresses at welded attachments (e.g., trunnions, shoes, dummy legs, and supports) Review vendor drawings and data for assigned stress‑critical piping systems. Sufficient knowledge of applicable codes and standards (ASME B31 series, CSA Z662, ASME VIII, API). Participate in interdisciplinary design reviews and constructability reviews. Provide engineering support during fabrication and construction, including resolution of field issues related to piping stress. Prepare and review specialty item datasheets for spring supports, expansion joints, snubbers, etc. Issue MRQs/MRPs. Review technical bid evaluations for piping stress engineering items. Prepare clear, well‑documented engineering deliverables for internal and client review. Support Lead Stress Engineer by developing and reviewing project schedules, budgets, progress reports, man‑hour estimates. Supervise junior stress analysts, check and coordinate their work. Work productively, meet deadlines, and strictly follow QA/QC requirements. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent). Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) eligible for registration with APEGA. 5–10 years of piping stress engineering experience with minimum 5 years in the oil and gas industry. Experience with oil sands facility piping, well pads, and gas processing plants. Experience working in an EPC project environment. Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards (ASME B31.3, CSA Z662, ASME VIII). Proficiency with CAESAR II and AutoPIPE. Experience with FEA tools such as NozzlePro. Thorough understanding of stress analysis including wind, seismic, vibration, slug flow, and fatigue. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Greenfield, Brownfield and MOC projects. Gas processing, SAGD and underground pipelines, or petrochemical facilities. Exposure to fatigue analysis and cyclic service evaluations. Experience working closely with Piping and CSA designers, Mechanical and Process engineers, and project management teams. Benefits A stimulating, fast‑paced and challenging work environment. A robust and consistent recruitment process that ensures team members are comparably capable. An opportunity to be part of an entrepreneurial, technically skilled team with leadership in innovative engineering solutions. A strong value‑based philosophy that provides an informal, close‑knit team environment. Competitive compensation and benefits, including a performance‑linked variable pay program. Company‑sponsored social events and team sports. Flexible work schedules, half‑day Fridays and free parking. An organization that values and encourages diversity. #J-18808-Ljbffr
