Senior/Lead Project Planner (VAN00JX) Company: Worley Primary Location: Vancouver, British Columbia Work Conditions Home Office (Monday to Thursday in office, Friday remote) – 40 hours per week. Periodic site travel may be requested. Ability to travel and work from various remote locations during the project life‑cycle. Position Description This position is responsible for establishing overall, integrated EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management) P6 schedules, including schedules for bids/proposals. The planner must fully understand all aspects of the EPCM life cycle as it relates to schedules, integrate multiple contributors, and properly resource load across all project phases. Additionally, the planner should utilize all available tools (deliverable lists, engineering and procurement flow charts, 3D models, work packages, drawings, estimating information) to achieve these goals. In addition to building these schedules, the planner must provide ongoing updates, maintenance, and analysis. Identifying issues early and offering solutions without intervention is essential. Detailed time analysis will be provided to the integrated project team, informing them of potential delays or opportunities promptly. The planner is expected to excel in a fast‑paced environment, be flexible, and may be accountable for multiple projects simultaneously. Responsibilities Create and maintain master schedules (Level I–V) based on specific project requirements and inputs from multiple departments. Develop and maintain resource‑loaded project master schedules as per the project WBS. Identify all interface points between schedule groups and create appropriate MIS (Milestone Interface Schedules). Create and manage EPS coding dictionaries for cross‑schedule analysis. Ensure key activities and milestone dates from the schedule basis are captured in the master schedule. Develop the Basis of Schedule document. Coordinate with stakeholders, including internal management, engineering and procurement leads, construction leads, turnover and commissioning groups, and client representatives. Update the schedule with progress tracking and ensure earned progress in the scorecard aligns with schedule updates; understand earning rules and scorecard integration. Determine schedule quality using Acumen Fuse and resolve any shortcomings. Conduct schedule risk analysis using Primavera Risk Analysis (PRA) software (asset). Assess schedule impacts during the change management process and modify the schedule accordingly. Organize Inter‑Active Planning (IAP) sessions throughout the project life‑cycle. Coordinate with workface planning groups to ensure proper package decomposition. Monitor milestones, notify the team of variances, and initiate mitigation; assess impacts during change management and modify the schedule. Coordinate with contractors and vendors in developing and managing their schedules, including schedule interface process. Organize required schedule reviews with project personnel. Assist project controls specialists in updating systems and applying progress to the live schedule. Apply contractor and vendor progress to the live schedule; perform it if they cannot. Position schedule data as the source for all time‑phased needs (cashflow, commodities, resourcing, etc.). Create and maintain various schedule views and layouts (90‑day look‑ahead, 3‑week look‑ahead, critical path, etc.). Coordinate with phase leads on all schedule updates, ensuring ad‑hoc (MS Project or Excel) schedules align with the master schedule. Review variance analysis with stakeholders after each schedule update and incorporate findings into reporting narratives. Assist Project Controls in developing skyline charts for EWP IFC, module assembly, system walk‑downs, and turnover. Maintain reporting views based on schedule data, including Power BI reports. Incorporate approved changes and analyze impact on the critical path. Provide feedback to key stakeholders on overall project status, including: Critical Path Analysis. Resource Forecasting / Histogram Preparation. Forecast to Project Controls for report generation. Information for internal and external reporting. What you will bring Technical and Industry Experience Experience in an integrated, geographically diverse design team environment. Previous experience across all project phases, Study FEED (Front End Engineering and Design) Detail Engineering Capital Equipment Procurement Fabrication and Modularization Field Construction Commissioning Minimum of 10 years of demonstrable experience with Primavera P6, including in an EPCM setting; proficient in scheduling and reporting. Ability to read and understand SOW (scope of work) and estimating documents. Experience with 3D modeling software such as Navisworks. Excellent skills in Microsoft Office Suite, English proficiency, and communication skills in a fast‑paced environment. General knowledge of IT programs used in estimating and project controls. Thorough knowledge of schedule principles and their application to projects. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure on complex issues across multiple projects. Knowledge of Power BI, Acumen Fuse and PRA is an asset. Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training Required: Engineering degree or Certified Journeyperson with relevant experience.
