The Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to application systems analysis and programming activities.ResponsibilitiesConduct tasks related to feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, IT planning, risk technology, application development, model development, and establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs to meet specific business needs or user areas.Monitor and control all phases of development process and analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation as well as provide user and operational support on applications to business users.Utilize in-depth specialty knowledge of application development to analyze complex problems/issues, provide evaluation of business process, system process, and industry standards, and make evaluative judgement.Recommend and develop security measures in post-implementation analysis of business usage to ensure successful system design and functionality.Consult with users/clients and other technology groups on issues, recommend advanced programming solutions, and install and assist customer exposure systems.Ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes.Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower-level analysts.Operate with a limited level of direct supervision.Exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.Act as subject matter expert to senior stakeholders and or other team members.Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgement regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.Qualifications5-8 years of relevant experience.Experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications.Experience in managing and implementing successful projects.Working knowledge of consulting/project management techniques/methods.Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements.Full Stack Proficiency:Demonstrated ability to design, develop, and maintain both front end and back end components of robust web applications.Front End Development:Strong expertise in developing intuitive user interfaces using contemporary JavaScript frameworks such as React, HTML5, and CSS.Back End Development:Solid experience in developing server side logic and APIs using languages such as Java, Python, or similar.Programming Principles:Strong understanding of OOP, data structures, and algorithms.Solution Design:Extensive experience in designing and developing integrated solutions with non functional requirements such as scalability, availability, consistency.Coding & Troubleshooting:Expertise in problem solving and troubleshooting, ability to write clean code using Core Java, J2EE, collections, and multithreading.Logging:Understanding of Log4j and Slf4j.API Development:Proficiency in API and Web Services development using REST protocols.Testing:Strong experience in unit testing and ensuring test coverage.Cloud Platforms:Solid understanding of Docker and Kubernetes.API Documentation:Experience using Swagger OpenAPI to define, document, implement and test APIs.Design Patterns:Familiarity with standard and enterprise design patterns.Messaging Platforms:Experience with high speed messaging platforms such as Kafka.Databases:Comprehensive knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL, with a deep understanding of relational database management systems particularly Oracle.Security:Expertise in authentication, authorization, and security protocols.CI/CD:Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery tools.Monitoring:Exposure to monitoring tools such as App Dynamics, Grafana, and others.Communication:Proven ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.AI ML LLMs:Knowledge of AI ML and LLMs such as Spring AI and Python.Agile Methodologies:Practical experience working within Agile development methodologies and utilizing project management tools such as Jira.Education Bachelor’s degree or university degree or equivalent experience.This job description provides a high level review of the types of work performed.
