Position Overview Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor – Family Physician Clinician‑Scientist (full‑time) at the Department of Family & Community Medicine, St. Michael’s Hospital, affiliated with the University of Toronto. Key responsibilities include a protected 70% research portfolio and 30% clinical care and teaching. The role reports to the Chief, Family & Community Medicine. The position starts October 1, 2026 or shortly before or after. Responsibilities Lead and support a research program, securing peer‑reviewed grants as Principal Investigator and producing high‑impact publications. Supervise graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. Present research at local, national, and international conferences. Engage patients, clinicians, policy makers, and interdisciplinary teams in the research process to improve patient care and health outcomes in Primary Care. Qualifications MD degree and College of Family Physicians of Canada certification (or equivalent) with eligibility for licensing in Ontario. Graduate degree or equivalent in health services research, epidemiology, or a related social science field. Outstanding record of research achievement (grants, publications, presentations) appropriate for the career stage. Experience collaborating with policy makers and multi‑disciplinary teams to address complex health care questions. Commitment to social justice, equity, and patient‑centred research. Proficiency in English. Benefits Estimated annual remuneration: $200,000 to $225,000, based on a mix of clinical billings, research salary, and alternate funding opportunities. Salary support includes contributions from the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute and a research stipend through the St. Michael’s Family Medicine Associates academic practice plan.
