Field Service Engineer – Automated Packaging Equipment Technical precision. Reliable support. Real-world results. We’re looking for a Field Service Engineer to join our world‑class service team. You’ll travel to customer sites worldwide, primarily across North America, to install, maintain, and repair advanced automated packaging systems used in diverse manufacturing environments. This role offers the perfect balance of structure and variety—clear expectations, defined processes, and technical work that changes from day to day. You’ll work independently most of the time, but always with the backing of a supportive service and engineering team. In This Role Project Ownership & Technical Leadership Act as technical owner for assigned customer projects, upgrades, integrations, or complex service scopes Serve as the primary technical interface with customers during execution Translate customer requirements into clear technical execution plans and acceptance criteria Lead system integration, line modifications, upgrades, and custom solutions Coordinate across Engineering, PMO, Production Excellence, Service, Sales, and external partners Lead technical decision‑making within approved standards, scope, and governance Validate final system performance against agreed requirements prior to customer acceptance Identify technical risks, scope changes, and improvement opportunities Support change orders, scope adjustments, and aftermarket revenue contribution Install, repair, and maintain complex automated packaging systems on‑site Field Service & Technical Execution Perform troubleshooting, repair, installation, commissioning, startup, audits, SAT, IOQ and optimization of packaging equipment at customer site Apply hands‑on mechanical, electrical, and software adjustments as required to achieve project outcomes Support complex service interventions and escalations where project or system knowledge is critical Participate in FAT, pre‑shipment inspections, and machine testing as required Train customers on operation, changeovers, and maintenance best practices Technical Support & Escalation Provide advanced remote technical support to Field Service Technicians and customers Support Technical Support with diagnostics and structured root cause analysis (RCA) Review service reports and identify recurring or systemic technical issues Act as a technical reference for complex machine configurations and integrated systems Service Engineering & Continuous Improvement Analyze field and project failures, wear patterns, and performance deviations Support creation and submission of NCRs, ECRs, and structured technical feedback to Engineering Propose improvement opportunities related to serviceability, reliability, maintainability, and standardization Participate in RCA discussions with Engineering, PMO, and Production Excellence Contribute to closing the loop between field experience and product evolution Documentation, Service Methods & SOP Development Create, update, and improve Service Methods, SOPs, troubleshooting guides, and inspection and service checklists Convert project and field experience into clear, repeatable, technician‑usable documentation Support development of internal and customer training materials You’ll Thrive In This Role If You Enjoy solving hands‑on technical challenges under time constraints Prefer structured environments with clear expectations and standards Are accurate, conscientious, and take pride in a job done right Appreciate variety in your work and new experiences through travel Value respectful leadership, private recognition, and teamwork built on trust Are calm, analytical, and think before you act—especially in high‑pressure situations What You Bring Degree or technical diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering (or equivalent experience) 3–5 years of experience in service engineering, field service, system integration, or industrial equipment support Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems Exposure to automation and PLC environments is an asset Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics Packaging or pharmaceutical equipment experience is an asset Valid driver’s license and passport Willingness to travel (domestic and international; up to ~60% depending on assignment) At BellatRx, we design and support cutting‑edge packaging equipment that helps our customers exceed their manufacturing goals.
