The candidate must demonstrate deep enough exposure to the entire DO-178 process, as well as the activities surrounding the demonstration of compliance to that standard. The job is in Montréal. Your role on the team You will be responsible for reviewing and evaluating embedded software and electronics designs from various suppliers to ensure they meet the OEM's technical specifications and certification authority requirements. Key responsibilities Participate in preliminary design reviews and critical design reviews organized by the OEM and suppliers. Review supplier software and embedded electronics certification plans. Review supplier software and embedded electronics design details (FPGA, ASIC, PLD). Conduct technical and process audits at supplier sites. Perform flight safety reviews. Evaluate test results and verification analyses to determine final compliance status with design and certification requirements. Lead resolution of safety or compliance technical issues with suppliers and other OEM internal stakeholders. Prepare and/or review certification reports. Contribute to the evolution of the SWEL (Software and Electronics) domain roadmap. Mentor less experienced team members in their professional development. Mandatory qualifications Education & Experience University degree in electrical, software, or aerospace engineering, or equivalent. Minimum 15 years of experience in a technical engineering field, including at least 10 years in aeronautics. Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in embedded software and electronics development and testing (FPGA, ASIC, or PLD). Standards & compliance — mandatory Deep, hands‑on experience with the end‑to‑end DO-178B/C process, including all activities related to the demonstration of compliance to that standard. Direct experience with the following standards and compliance guidance documents: RTCA DO-178B/C, DO-248B/C, DO-254, DO-330 EASA CM-SWCEH-002 and CM-SWCEH-001 FAA AC 20-115D and AC 20-152A FAA Orders A and A Nice to have — assets, not requirements The following are appreciated but are not eliminatory criteria. Knowledge of requirements management tools (DOORS, JAMA, or equivalent). Experience with FAA/EASA certification processes on the authority side (DER, DAR, DOAS).
