This is a new senior leadership position that will provide strategic direction and oversight for all fundraising and communications activities for both SOURCES and the SOURCES Foundation. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and working closely with both theSociety Boardand theFoundation Board , the Executive Director will play a pivotal role in shaping the organization’s long‑term philanthropic and communications strategy. Description of Position: Reporting to:President & CEO Strategic LeadershipProvide overall leadership for SOURCES’ fund development and communications strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and growth plans. Serve as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, working collaboratively with other executive directors to achieve organizational goals. Partner with the CEO, Society Board, and Foundation Board to build strong philanthropic relationships and enhance organizational visibility. Fund DevelopmentLead a comprehensive fundraising program including:Major gifts and legacy/estate giving Monthly giving programs Corporate partnerships and sponsorships Grant strategy oversight Donor stewardship, recognition, and impact reportingExpand SOURCES’ geographic fundraising reach, with a phased strategy beginning in Langley, then Oceanside (Parksville), and Prince George. Collaborate directly with the CEO on major donor cultivation and solicitation. Communications & BrandIntegrate internal and external communications to strengthen organizational culture and enhance brand awareness. Oversee the development of strategic messaging, content creation, media relations, and digital presence to support fundraising and community engagement goals. Oversee the development of a marketing strategy that supports all of the above. Operational OversightLead and mentor the Manager of Communications & Marketing and Coordinator, Communications & Administration. Provide oversight of contracted event planners and grant/database functions. Assess and recommend future team growth to support expanded fundraising strategies. Ensure DonorPerfect (or successor CRM) and data management systems support a coordinated and strategic donor engagement approach. Proven track record inmajor gift fundraising , strategic communications, and donor stewardship. Preferred experience inhealth, social services, or nonprofitsectors. Demonstrated ability tobuild donor pipelines , manage campaigns, and foster strategic partnerships. Strong leadership and team‑building skills, with the ability toinspire and grow a departmentover time. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strategic and creative mindset. Comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders, boards, donors, and community partners. CFRE designation preferred.
