Why is This Role Important Working with internal designers, retouchers, editorial, regulatory, product and brand teams you will be responsible for building Prepress ready Production Art files following brand guidelines. The Production Artist will report to the Sr. Manager, Production and will support both our retail and control brands’ initiatives. Accountabilities Prepare artwork for approvals, ensuring the proper use of print specifications, dielines, project listing Information, design, final copy, and brand standards. Ensure artwork meets specifications from the print vendor, working to ensure artwork is compatible with the specific printing process in use for each project. Address all comments and concerns from suppliers and other internal departments to complete final artwork. Collaborate with Designers, Retouchers, Editorial and Proofreaders, and Product teams, as required to achieve project objectives. Review and follow-up to resolve missing information from print specifications, dielines, project listing Information, design, final copy, where information is missing, questionable, or if clarification is required. Work within the Loblaw workflow, ensuring necessary tasks are completed at the correct interval and completed properly, to maintain the integrity of the workflow. Interact with various Loblaw databases and systems for retrieving and updating Artwork information, including digital file system. Keep up to date with current developments in software and hardware technologies as applicable to role. Assist in the training and orientation of new Production Artists as required. Role Requirements Degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution or relevant related experience. 1-2 years' experience producing artwork, preferably for retail consumer package goods. Ability to create production ready Final Artwork files for various printing processes. Strong attention to detail and with an eye for visual balance and design esthetics. Ability to independently layout secondary panel information, preparation instructions, recipes, ingredients, nutrition panels, etc., to brand standards provided. Must be a team player and have the ability to juggle multiple priorities. Strong organization skills with the ability to prioritize and balance conflicting tasks. Working knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop.
