Senior Project Manager – Utilities Ensuring the smooth operation of a facility’s utilities systems, including water, gas, electric, and other energy sources. Overseeing maintenance, repair, and improvement of these systems to meet the needs of the facility efficiently and sustainably. Coordinating with multiple departments to guarantee reliable delivery, regulatory compliance, and cost‑effective service quality. Location: Out of the GTA. Vacancy: New Position. Responsibilities Oversee utility construction projects from start to finish in collaboration with various teams to ensure proper installation and adherence to project standards. Negotiate and manage contracts with utility service providers, vendors, and contractors to secure favorable terms and maintain quality service. Implement safety protocols and emergency response plans for utility systems. Oversee on‑site activities, ensuring compliance, maintaining quality control, and promoting a safe working environment while keeping schedules and budgets on track. Lead and manage utility staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation to ensure a skilled and effective workforce. Work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and field staff to guarantee construction standards are met and progress smoothly. Continuously monitor all utility equipment and installations for safety and functionality. Conduct thorough inspections and site checks to maintain high‑quality standards and identify risks or improvement areas. Verify that construction work complies with applicable codes, standards, and company guidelines. Enforce legal regulations and safety procedures to protect the health and well‑being of the team. Ensure construction activities align with compliance and project requirements. Qualifications Committed and skilled professional who takes pride in quality work. Experienced in managing construction projects and knowledgeable about dry utilities requirements. Post‑secondary degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (or similar). Minimum of 10 years managing construction projects with a focus on dry utilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to lead and manage a team effectively. Strong problem‑solving and critical thinking skills. Excellent organizational and time‑management skills. Adaptability to changing environments and priorities. Self‑motivated, dedicated, and results‑oriented. Ability to work under tight deadlines, multitask, and follow up. Strong computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office.
