Senior Associate – US State and Local Tax (SALT)As a Senior Associate in our US State and Local Tax (SALT) practice, you will provide consulting and advisory services to clients on a range of US state and local tax matters including planning, compliance, and strategy. You will work closely with subject‑matter experts and participate in engagements that help businesses optimize their tax positions and navigate complex business issues. ResponsibilitiesSupport state tax advisory engagements such as nexus analyses, voluntary disclosures, and sales tax analysis across multiple industries, delivering well‑supported recommendations. Support US SALT due diligence on potential acquisitions and transaction‑related projects such as restructuring. Proactively manage day‑to‑day workstreams for multiple engagements, communicating status, risks, and next steps to managers and senior staff. Build and maintain effective working relationships with client stakeholders through responsive communication, professionalism, and attention to detail. Coach and review the work of junior team members, contributing to a collaborative and inclusive team environment. Stay current on state and local tax developments and proactively share relevant insights with the team. Participate in business development efforts by identifying opportunities for new or existing clients and supporting proposals. Uphold the firm’s code of ethics and business conduct. QualificationsBachelor’s degree in accounting or an equivalent field. 2‑3 years of prior experience in US tax. Experience with US state and local tax is preferred but not required. US inbound (cross‑border tax) experience is an asset. Demonstrated interest in AI and emerging technologies is an asset; experience with AI‑enabled tools (e.g., Copilot, Harvey) is an asset. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to synthesize complex rules and facts into clear conclusions. Ability to manage priorities across multiple engagements and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to work effectively in a team environment. Experience with OneSource tax preparation software is desirable but not required. Strong technology skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and tax research tools. SalaryThe salary range for this position is $58,400 – $97,500.
