Market Data Business Analyst Department: Product - Global Data Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time Location: Canada Reporting To: Bobby Banakar Description Montreal, Canada - Hybrid More about the role & team This is a high-impact role within a lean team, sitting at the intersection of product, data, and engineering. Rather than a typical Business Analyst position, this role is hands‑on—you’ll work directly with data, shape how it flows through systems, and help deliver real, usable data solutions across the business. You’ll partner closely with product and engineering teams to turn complex data needs into clear technical requirements, supporting the build of data feeds, pipelines, and transformations. At the same time, you’ll manage multiple priorities, improve processes, and introduce automation to make data delivery more efficient. This is a broad, fast‑paced role with real ownership—giving you the opportunity to drive solutions end‑to‑end and influence how data is structured and delivered. Responsibilities Translate business and product requirements into clear technical data specifications for engineering teams Manage data ingestion and transformation workflows , including external vendor data feeds and internal datasets Collaborate with developers to deliver data pipelines, feeds, and transformations Monitor and improve data quality , identifying anomalies and resolving issues across datasets Own small to mid‑sized data projects end‑to‑end, balancing multiple requests and priorities Identify opportunities to automate and optimize processes using Python or similar tools Partner with stakeholders across product, engineering, and BI teams to ensure data solutions meet business needs Qualifications and Skills Strong SQL expertise (non‑negotiable) Ability to work effectively with data pipelines, schemas, feeds, APIs, and data warehouses Proven ability to work independently with data and deliver solutions end‑to‑end Experience translating business requirements into clear technical specifications Strong communication skills with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders Ability to operate with high autonomy and manage multiple requests or projects simultaneously 1–3 years’ experience in a market data, data analytics, or financial data environment Python for automation or process improvement Experience with modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake) Familiarity with data ingestion, transformation, and vendor data workflows Experience with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau Exposure to AI tools or an interest in automation Benefits Generous Time Off packages including additional half days with each public holiday in your location Global Career Development opportunities Social Events Referral Bonus scheme – up to $3,000 per successful referral Plus many more Location We offer flexible working options for all employees.
