Overview Saatchi & Saatchi Canada is currently opening a new Senior Platform Engineer position to support an innovative AI initiative. This role is part of a growing team with an immediate start date. We are seeking a candidate with a minimum of 6 years of experience in cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices, who is passionate about automation, reliability, and enabling development teams to deliver value efficiently. A strong understanding of security, scalability, and operational excellence is essential. Responsibilities Design and maintain cloud infrastructure with multi‑cloud extensibility in mind. Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines for Java backend and React frontend applications. Implement infrastructure as code for consistent, repeatable deployments. Manage containerized workloads and orchestration platforms. Establish monitoring, logging, and alerting strategies using cloud‑native and third‑party tools. Implement security best practices including secrets management, IAM policies, and network security. Support development teams with environment provisioning and troubleshooting. Drive automation initiatives to reduce toil and improve operational efficiency. Qualifications 6+ years of professional experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering. Strong proficiency with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure). Experience with containerization (Docker) and container orchestration concepts. Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Pulumi, or cloud‑native equivalents). Proficiency in CI/CD tools and practices (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Cloud Build, or similar). Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python) for automation. Understanding of networking concepts (VPCs, load balancing, DNS, firewalls). Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, cloud‑native monitoring, or similar). Knowledge of security best practices and compliance requirements. Experience with GitOps workflows and version‑controlled infrastructure. Location & Eligibility Candidates must be based in the Greater Toronto Area with valid Canadian work authorization of at least 12 months. Hybrid Work This role is mostly remote and suitable for candidates within the GTA area, with a presence of once a month at our Toronto office (111 Queen St. E, Suite 200, Toronto, ON M5C 1S2) and once a month at our client's office in the GTA. Time Off Up to 3 weeks vacation, with additional paid closure between Christmas and New Year’s. Extended long weekends for provincial holidays – both Monday and Friday are granted for a full 4‑day break. 6 sick days and 2 personal days per year.
