Our Vancouver Corporate office is currently recruiting for a Manager, Canadian Logistics. Reporting to the Senior Manager – Canadian Logistics, the Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing rail/reload/truck transportation and logistics while leading and developing a high-performing team. The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills and be a strategic thinker to drive efficiency, enhance vendor partnerships and align logistics with overall business objectives. Responsibilities Lead, manage and develop a diverse and inclusive team of logistics professionals, fostering accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement. Develop, implement and monitor key performance indicators that support strategic priorities and enable data-driven decision making. Build and maintain relationships with transportation providers to ensure service reliability, cost efficiency, and contract compliance. Manage service performance with rail, warehouse/reload, and trucking partners. Manage logistics contracts to maintain competitiveness and alignment with business goals. Develop, implement and execute logistics strategies related to shipping methods, inventory management, and process optimization to meet customer and business requirements. Partner with Operations and Sales to align KPIs, improve profitability, and support commercial objectives. Build a strong understanding of production operations through mill visits and ongoing operational engagement. Develop a working knowledge of sales strategies and market demand to proactively support business needs. Develop a thorough understanding of modal transportation markets and trends. Qualifications Strong leadership and team‑building skills with the ability to inspire and mentor. Excellent communication and negotiation skills for working with vendors and internal stakeholders. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed business decisions. Problem‑solving skills to develop innovative solutions and improve logistics processes. Ability to work cross‑functionally and collaborate with multiple teams. Comfortable with public speaking and presenting market trends and strategic recommendations. Ability to travel up to 20%. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Minimum 5–7 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or transportation management. Demonstrated experience in rail and/or truck logistics. Knowledge of contract negotiations, vendor management, and rate analysis. Previous experience in team leadership, coaching, and employee development is strongly preferred. Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS), ERP software, and data analytics tools. Experience with reporting tools and data analytics (Excel, Power BI). Knowledge of industry regulations, safety standards, and sustainability practices. What We Offer Competitive base salary with an annual bonus opportunity. Typical salary range: $102,000 – $121,000, may vary based on education and experience.
