Implement company-wide policies and procedures applicable to the site. Develop, maintain and implement site plans, policies and procedures, and support continuous improvement of these internal standards. Develop and implement site training programs; ensure employees, contractors and visitors are trained as required. Lead all regulatory reporting and documentation requirements, both externally to government bodies and internally. Keep site leadership team and Toronto head office up‑to‑date on site issues. Ensure compliance with CIAC requirements. Promote good practices throughout the site and share successful practices company‑wide. Support Responsible Care Safety, PSM compliance and security activities for the plant. Act as a liaison to the Plant Manager and serve on the joint health and safety committee and ERCO Safety Committee. Lead incident investigations and prepare incident reports when appropriate. Liaise with government, community and emergency responders as required. Integrate the company‑wide annual safety plan with the site safety plan. Follow up on assigned actions in a timely manner. Support the ERCO Director, Health & Safety in company‑wide initiatives. The Person: Recognized CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) safety designation or education, or current enrolment in a recognized safety program leading to this designation. 4‑year university degree (academic technical) or equivalent OH&S technical training/experience preferred. Minimum 3 years’ experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment; preference for experience in chemical manufacturing. Excellent working knowledge of OH&S regulations. Training and experience in OH&S management in an industrial setting, including incident investigation, workplace inspections, JSA, safety training, auditing, etc. Hands‑on experience with industrial safety practices: lock‑out, confined space, safety inspections, hazard assessments. Ability to understand, interpret and communicate site OH&S regulations and develop site procedures for compliance. Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all organizational levels. Credible presence in interactions with government, community and site employees. Analytical mindset to identify cost‑effective solutions to improve plant reliability, efficiency and safety.
