Responsibilities Examine a variety of digital multimedia evidence including Body Worn Camera media evidence. Use various technologies and a range of software techniques to vet and/or convert media evidence. Record all procedures followed and technologies used during the editing process, with the knowledge and understanding that this information is subject to disclosure. Prioritize court ready media or documents to meet defined deadlines. Complete copies for disclosure submission requests in a time sensitive manner. Determine which proprietary software programs to provide to Crown Prosecutors. Complete conversion of media and editing requests. Respond to Crown Inquiry memos. Educate CPS Officers, Crown stakeholders regarding media submissions. Working Conditions Exposure to graphic and disturbing media. Qualifications A 1-year certificate in Justice or Police/Legal Studies, Digital Media, or a closely related field and a minimum of 1 year of experience working in policing, law enforcement or court disclosure environment. Preference will be given to candidates who have a completed 2-year diploma in Justice or Police/Legal Studies, Digital Media or a closely related field. Advanced proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is required. Previous experience processing or editing videos is preferred. Law Enforcement & Emergency Services Video Analysis (LEVA) Level 1 and Level 2 - Certified Forensic Video Technician is an asset. Working proficiency with media programs such as: Evidence.com, Adobe Premiere Pro, Handbrake and Izotope is also considered an asset.
