As a Canadian leader in infrastructure development, Aecon is safely and sustainably building what matters for future generations to thrive. We lead some of the most impactful infrastructure projects of our generation, at the forefront of transformational change in transportation and energy, and partner every day to build, connect, power, and strengthen our communities. Core Values Safety Always. Our number one core value. If we can’t do it safely, we don’t do it at all. Integrity. We lead by example, with humility and courage. Accountability. We’re passionate about delivering on our commitments. Inclusion. We provide equitable opportunities for everyone. What Is the Opportunity? Reporting to the Sr. Director, Integrated Operational Controls (IOC), the GenAI Project Controls Manager will lead the deployment of ALICE Technologies’ generative construction simulation platform to optimize project delivery strategies. This role will integrate AI‑driven planning and estimating methodologies, leveraging Aecon’s processes for Project Data Structure (PDS), Schedule Management, and Cashflow Modeling to determine and maintain the most cost‑ and time‑efficient execution paths. What You’ll Do Here Lead the implementation of ALICE Technologies software across major projects to simulate and optimize construction sequences. Integrate ALICE outputs with Aecon's PDS, Control Schedule, and Cashflow Model to ensure alignment with project controls standards. Develop and maintain AI‑enhanced project schedules, incorporating cost, resources, and risk data. Collaborate with Estimating, Construction, Project Controls, and IDD teams to ensure model inputs reflect real‑world constraints and opportunities. Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to align on execution strategies and validate AI‑generated scenarios. Conduct scenario analysis to evaluate trade‑offs between cost, time, and risk. Support the development of 4D/5D simulations and cashflow models during pursuit and execution phases. Provide training and mentorship to planning teams on ALICE and generative planning methodologies. Support project teams with monitoring and reporting on schedule performance, critical path shifts, and optimization opportunities. Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives related to AI planning. What You Bring To The Team Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Business, or equivalent. 10+ years of planning experience in infrastructure or mega‑projects. Proven expertise in Primavera P6 and generative planning tools (ALICE preferred). Strong expertise in planning, scheduling, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, estimating, cost control, risk management, change management, and analytics. In‑depth knowledge of Earned Value Management principles, production and productivity tracking, cost and revenue forecasting. Experience with 4D/5D modeling and integration of cost and schedule data. Familiarity with quantitative schedule risk analysis (QSRA) and cost risk analysis (QCRA). Ability to interpret and apply outputs from AI simulations to real‑world project constraints. Professional certifications such as PMI PMP, PMI‑RMP, PMI‑SP, AACEI CCP and/or PSP considered an asset. Ability to establish program policies and procedures and evaluate their effectiveness. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Enthusiastic, self‑motivated, eager to learn and takes initiative to get involved. Detail‑oriented with a customer‑focused mindset. Experience in training and mentoring planning professionals. Willingness to travel to perform frequent visits to project sites across Canada.
