Responsibilities As Supervisor, Equipment (Fleet), you’ll lead maintenance strategies, manage daily workflows, and champion safety and innovation across all equipment services. You’ll work closely with stakeholders to ensure fleet reliability while identifying opportunities for modernization and efficiency. You’ll guide a skilled team, optimize lifecycle planning, and champion continuous improvement—playing a key role in delivering reliable, cost‑effective services that keep our Corporation and community moving forward. Key duties include: Plan, direct and schedule maintenance and repair programs of corporately owned vehicles and equipment under the Fleet Services Division’s jurisdiction. Schedule and direct the assignment of work, personnel, equipment and resources; instruct Division personnel in efficient methods. Examine daily timesheets and work orders for proper distribution, provide cost control on accounts, report variances and schedules; approve annual vacations and overtime of assigned personnel. Participate in preparation and administration of capital and operating budgets. Investigate and report on claims for injury, damage or complaints and take appropriate action. Participate in hiring, evaluation, discipline, transferring and termination of staff; respond to grievances on behalf of the Corporation. Provide information, reports, letters and memoranda of significant developments; review major activities with the Manager. Develop and maintain inventories and records of the location, condition and upkeep of assets under the Division’s jurisdiction. Ensure insurance, equipment, procedures and controls protect the Corporation from civil liabilities. Participate in development, implementation and enforcement of internal safety policies, procedures, standards, rules and regulations and ensure they are clearly communicated to staff. Qualifications Certificate of Qualifications as a Truck and Coach Technician, Code 310T, or Automotive Service Technician, Code 310S, with at least five years’ experience in fleet maintenance of light and heavy equipment in large fleet portfolios, or Diploma in business administration with at least seven years’ experience.
