The Opportunity Our client, Encore Auctions , is looking for an HR Generalist to join their team. This role is hands-on role in delivering full-cycle HR support across the organization. Acting as a trusted partner to leaders and employees, ensuring HR practices are professional, compliant, and people-focused. Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll oversee core functions such as recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, performance management, payroll support, health and safety, and benefits administration. This role is instrumental in strengthening quality of hire, supporting employee engagement and retention, and aligning HR programs with the evolving needs of the business. What You’ll Be Responsible For HR Operations, Systems & Compensation You’ll be the go-to expert for HR systems and employee data, supporting payroll accuracy, benefits administration, and smooth day-to-day HR operations while ensuring confidentiality and compliance. Health, Safety & Compliance This role helps shape and uphold workplace policies and health & safety practices, supporting training, compliance, and continuous improvement, particularly in a warehouse and frontline environment. Recruitment & Workforce Stability You’ll lead full-cycle recruitment across a variety of roles, partnering with leaders to improve hiring outcomes, reduce turnover, and strengthen workforce planning. This includes exploring creative talent pipelines and government-supported employment programs. Onboarding, Performance & Development You’ll oversee onboarding and performance processes that support early engagement, productivity, and growth, coaching leaders on effective performance management and employee development conversations. Employee Relations & Advisory Support As a trusted HR partner, you’ll provide balanced, practical guidance to employees and leaders, supporting issue resolution, investigations, and change initiatives while ensuring fair and consistent people practices. What you Bring to the Team You bring a strong foundation in HR , supported by post‑secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, with a CHRP designation (or progress toward one) strongly preferred. You have 5+ years of hands‑on experience in an HR Generalist role , ideally within an operational, fast‑paced environment such as warehousing, logistics, manufacturing, or retail. Your background includes managing core HR functions such as full‑cycle recruitment, employee relations, performance management, payroll and benefits administration, WSIB related activities, and HR systems. You have a solid working knowledge of Ontario employment standards and occupational health and safety legislation, and you’re comfortable applying policies consistently and accurately. Experience administering HRIS and payroll systems is essential, along with a strong attention to data integrity and operational efficiency. You bring strong professional judgment , discretion, and a commitment to ethical HR practices. Highly organized and adaptable , you’re comfortable juggling multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment. You work collaboratively and credibly with leaders and employees at all levels, balancing people needs with business objectives. Compensations & Benefits: Salary: $62,000 to $72,000 per year Competitive benefits package after three months of continuous employment. An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is also included. Employees may also participate in a Group RRSP 15 days of vacation per year Work Environment This role is fully onsite, based in London, Ontario. It is primarily office‑based within a warehouse operating environment. Regular presence on the warehouse floor is required to support employees, foster engagement, and respond to operational needs.
