Role Description This role is responsible for providing full-cycle accounting support for real estate development and construction projects, including maintaining the chart of accounts and preparing monthly trial balances, journal entries, accruals, and daily bank reconciliation. It oversees accounts payable and receivable functions, including full-cycle AP, and ensures timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments. The position plays a key role in managing project funding draws, including the preparation and submission of draw packages, tracking budgets versus actuals, coordinating supporting documentation, and communicating draw status to owners, lenders, and internal stakeholders. Other responsibilities include payroll processing and CRA remittances and HST reconciliations and filings. The successful candidate will ensure the integrity of financial data through accurate coding and allocation, maintain complete project accounting records and working papers for year-end and external accountants, and support the preparation and review of project pro formas, financial statements, audit files, and lender/government/partner compliance reporting. This role also supports subcontractor compliance tracking (insurance, holdbacks, Workers’ Compensation, lien waivers, and pay applications), collaborates professionally with internal stakeholders, partners, and trades, and completes ad hoc accounting projects and financial analysis as required. Qualifications Proficiency in preparing and analyzing Financial Statements and Advanced Analytical Skills Strong expertise in Journal Entries and Fixed Assets management In-depth knowledge of Finance principles and practices Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting Experience with accounting software and tools Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively, manage multiple competing tasks, and consistently meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment Strong expertise in journal entries, account reconciliations, and fixed asset accounting, including capitalization and depreciation Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation is a strong asset Prior experience in real estate or private equity sectors is a plus #J-18808-Ljbffr
