Responsibilities include building and maintaining databases, data pipelines, custom applications, cloud environments, BI platforms, SharePoint solutions, reporting dashboards, and AI‑enabled solutions, as well as independent project delivery and stakeholder collaboration.ResponsibilitiesDesign, maintain, and optimize digital and spatial databases and tools aligned with operational and legislative needs.Build and maintain integrated data environments, including ETL pipelines, ingestion from legacy and modern systems, and consolidation into centralized databases and BI platforms.Develop and maintain custom applications and tools using Python, Angular, Java, and other technologies.Configure and manage cloud and hosted environments such as AWS S3.Leverage PowerApps and Power Automate to develop custom applications and automate workflows.Utilize modern data platforms (Microsoft Fabric, data lakes, and BI tools) to enable scalable integration, analytics, and reporting.Configure and manage SharePoint‑based intranet and web solutions, including internal sites, forms, and workflow‑driven platforms.Design and deploy reporting solutions and dashboards within internal BI environments.Explore and implement AI‑enabled solutions for intelligent automation and decision‑making.Operate independently to prioritize, design, and deliver end‑to‑end solutions in a low‑support environment.Support planning and delivery of multiple concurrent initiatives, ensuring alignment with business priorities, timelines, and stakeholder expectations.CompetenciesAgility – adapts quickly to change and proposes alternatives with backup plans.Drive for Results – tracks and achieves performance targets aligned with APS goals, taking full responsibility for outcomes.Systems Thinking – develops and implements long‑term strategies considering interrelated systems and stakeholder impacts.Creative Problem Solving – uses structured analysis to identify root causes and drives innovative solutions.Build Collaborative Environments – leads cross‑functional meetings, recognizes contributions, and resolves conflicts early.Qualifications Minimum Requirements: • Completed university graduation in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or related field (Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, etc.) with a minimum of 4 years related experience. Equivalencies may be considered.Assets: • Relevant certification or accreditation (e.g., ESRI). • Knowledge of SAS, R, SQL, project management and/or business analysis principles. • Experience managing data migration, application license management, and data integration activities. • Strong analytical and technical skills for data analysis and reporting. • Experience with industries such as oil and gas, electric power, telecommunications, or designated industrial property sectors. • Knowledge of property assessment, taxation principles, legislation, and regulations.Location & Hours Full‑time, permanent opportunity located in Edmonton.
