Senior Consultant, Risk Advisory – National Business Resilience Team BDO is looking for a new Senior Consultant to join the National Business Resilience Team, reporting to our Business Resilience Leads. The role focuses on crisis management guidance and services to clients across a range of sectors and supports team business development activities. Responsibilities Deliver high‑quality consulting services with an all‑hazard, integrated crisis management approach, covering risk analyses and audits, emergency preparedness and response, business impact analysis and continuity, IT disaster recovery, crisis communication, briefing, training, testing and simulations. Build and deliver strategic and operational solutions that harmonize client corporate requirements, objectives and needs; engage all employee and stakeholder levels; transfer knowledge; ensure successful project management; and lead client engagements throughout the mandate. Build lasting relationships and develop new business with clients while maintaining relationships with existing clients. Contribute to achieving agreed‑upon goals for industry sectors. Participate in the evolution of BDO’s intellectual capital for the practice by applying experience in business continuity planning—including BIAs, BCP development and tabletop exercises. Experience & Education University diploma, preferably in risk management, emergency management, business administration, or a related field. Minimum 3–5 years as a consultant or with experience in the areas mentioned. Minimum 3–5 years in one or more targeted industries: Energy & Natural Resources, Financial Services, Public Sector, Manufacturing & Distribution, Not‑For‑Profit, Real Estate. Knowledge of risk analysis, emergency preparedness and response, and business continuity approaches, standards and regulations. Knowledge of DRI International Professional Practices, BCI Good Practice Guidelines and tabletop exercise design and facilitation. Bilingual in French and English is an asset. Ability to qualify for Government of Canada security clearance. Verifiable track record in the targeted industries including relationship building. Professional designation (ABCP, CBCP, MBCI, or equivalent) preferred; candidates working toward a designation considered. Membership in risk management, emergency management or business continuity organizations is an asset. Transferable backgrounds such as military, policing or public safety encouraged. Strong writing skills for client deliverables (reports, plans, procedures). Comfort working independently and managing multiple concurrent engagements.
