Commissioning Specialist – Electrical Responsibilities Manage commissioning projects and deliver commissioning services in new construction and existing buildings. Verify that installations function per design intent and contract documents, witnessing functional and integrated system tests. Collaborate with consultants, contractors, vendors, and facilities teams to confirm safe and optimal performance of electrical systems. Prepare commissioning plans, schedules, and test scripts, review technical documentation, and produce clear, concise reports for internal and external stakeholders. Conduct formal reviews of documentation such as work plans, test reports, and start‑up documentation; identify, track, and manage deficiency close‑out. Support facility start‑up, training, demonstration, acceptance, handover, and transitions to post‑occupancy/warranty phases. Apply technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, building envelope, facilities operations, and building management to troubleshoot equipment and system issues. Participate in internal and external commissioning coordination meetings as required. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum five years of experience in electrical commissioning, preferably in complex facilities such as healthcare or scientific laboratories. Diploma or degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline. Proven ability to manage commissioning projects with strong organizational, reporting, and presentation skills. Solid understanding of electrical systems and experience in the engineering or construction field. Knowledge of building codes, standards, and commissioning best practices. Proficiency with database tools and systems for tracking, documenting, and reporting commissioning activities. Strong time‑management skills and ability to prioritize tasks, work under pressure, and meet project schedules without compromising quality. Accountable, reliable, and committed to delivering high‑quality, detail‑oriented work. Professional commissioning certifications such as BCxP or CCP in good standing are considered a strong asset. Compensation The expected salary for this role is between $85,000 and $110,000 annually.
