Reporting to the Manager, Enterprise Solutions Information Technology, this full‑time, Calgary‑based role will play a key part in designing and evolving our enterprise data platforms to support analytics, AI/ML, and cloud initiatives across the organization. The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of hands‑on technical expertise, architectural thinking, and the ability to collaborate with both technical teams and business stakeholders.This position is based out of our downtown Calgary office.Your Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and maintain enterprise data architecture across Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Databricks, and hybrid data environments Establish reference architectures and standards for data ingestion, storage, transformation, and consumptionLead architectural decisions for platforms including Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Lake, and DatabricksEnsure data platforms meet requirements for scalability, performance, resiliency, security, and cost optimizationSupport and guide enterprise‑scale data engineering and ETL/ELT strategiesDesign data architectures that enable AI/ML, advanced analytics, and GenAI use casesSupport feature stores, model training pipelines, and inference data patterns in production environmentsEnable self‑service analytics and reporting through Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and other BI toolsTranslate business and analytics requirements into scalable technical designsAct as a trusted advisor to stakeholders on data strategy and architectureMentor data engineers and analysts on architecture standards and best practicesDrive data platform modernization initiatives and continuous improvementData Governance & QualityDefine and support standards for data quality, metadata, lineage, access control, privacy, and compliance.Work with stakeholders to identify critical data domains and improve trust in enterprise data.Help establish data ownership, stewardship, and quality monitoring practices.Ensure data platforms align with security, regulatory, and enterprise governance expectations.Partner with data scientists, analysts, and business teams to ensure data readiness and qualityYour Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field3+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, BI architecture, or analytics platform delivery.Strong experience with Azure data servicesHands‑on experience with Microsoft Fabric and/or DatabricksProven experience building and governing ETL/ELT pipelinesStrong understanding of data modeling (dimensional, lakehouse, domain‑oriented)Experience supporting AI/ML or GenAI solutions in production, is considered an assetKnowledge of modern analytics and lakehouse architectures, is considered an assetDevOps/DataOps experience for data platforms, is considered an assetFamiliarity with data governance, metadata, and lineage tools, is considered an assetExperience in regulated or enterprise‑scale environments, is considered an assetRelevant certifications (Azure, Databricks, AI/ML), is considered an assetMust be legally eligible to work in Canada.Ability to provide three satisfactory professional references and a criminal background check.Benefits of Working at TAQA North:We do what is right for our environment, community and peopleWe believe in equal employment opportunities and strive for a diverse workplaceWe celebrate and recognize our peopleTAQA North offers a comprehensive benefits program.
