Position purpose This is an exciting opportunity as it’s a newly created role within the team. The incumbent provides strategic and engaging leadership in the design, implementation, and continuous transformation of digital experiential learning initiatives, emphasizing learner self-direction, flexibility, and local relevance. Through their vision, they drive the digital transformation of experiential learning at the institutional level, unite internal and external partners, and ensure the development of transferable skills essential to learner success. They are responsible for teaching the central self-directed course, overseeing its evolution, and supporting active learner engagement in contextualized formats that promote agency, critical reflection, and transferable skill development. Working with internal and external partners, they contribute to enhancing and differentiating existing digital pathways, and developing new ones, by integrating adapted experiential modules. They ensure the quality, alignment, and institutional coherence of the digital experiential offerings, supporting goals of innovation, accessibility, and local, national, and international outreach. Simultaneously, they develop and lead the strategy for the development, implementation, and evolution of a portfolio of extracurricular micro-credentials aligned with the needs of a rapidly changing job market, promoting the acquisition, application, and mastery of transferable skills—both general ("soft skills") and technical (project management, digital skills, etc.). In this role, your responsibilities will include: Strategic Planning (35%) Leads, in collaboration with campus partners (faculties, services, etc.), the vision, development, and evolution of the institutional strategy on experiential learning related to self-directed courses, emphasizing learner agency, transferable skills development, and critical thinking. Actively contributes to the development of the institutional digital strategy by working closely with campus partners (both central and faculty levels) to ensure the integration of experiential components in the institutional digital offerings. Oversees the development, implementation, and evolution of the extracurricular micro-credentials portfolio focused on transferable skills (both technical and general), enriching learners’ academic paths and supporting their professional integration, while aligning with labor market realities. Defines clear and measurable objectives for each initiative, incorporating impact and performance indicators to guide actions and adjust strategy Competency Development through Digital Experiential Learning and Extracurricular Micro-credentials (40%) Develops, in collaboration with internal and external partners, the digital experiential learning strategy (including self-directed courses) from design through implementation and ongoing evolution. Teaches the core self-directed course, fostering learner agency while ensuring maximum flexibility and appropriate (local, cultural, etc.) contextualization. Develops digital experiential learning modules designed for seamless and sustainable integration into the digital strategy, adaptable to learners’ diverse geographical, cultural, and community contexts. Develops and evolves a portfolio of extracurricular micro-credentials aligned with labor market needs, which can be paired with experiential activities to foster the development of technical and general skills. Management, Institutional Deployment, and Sustainability of Initiatives (25%) Oversees a rigorous, continuous evaluation process for initiatives under their responsibility, in collaboration with institutional and faculty partners, relying on performance indicators focused on learner experience and development. Ensures the long-term sustainability of projects by developing and implementing appropriate pricing and funding models that generate revenue and guarantee viability, while maintaining strict budget management. Provides strategic leadership in establishing, maintaining, and developing a complex network of internal (faculties, services, etc.) and external (postsecondary institutions, private and community partners, etc.) partnerships essential to project success, sustainability, and innovation. Supports stakeholders in digital transformation and the development of learner agency, promoting change adoption and fostering innovation in a dynamic context. Manages a complex network of internal and external collaborations to support sustainable project deployment within the context of digital transformation. What you will bring Doctorate (PhD) in a relevant field (e.g., humanities, education, social sciences, etc.) combined with professional training (e.g., management diploma such as an MBA or equivalent). At least five years of relevant experience in strategic project management and program implementation in a complex environment such as a postsecondary institution. Experience in designing, evaluating, and supervising experiential learning and career preparation programs. Bilingualism – French and English (oral and written). In-depth knowledge of approaches to foster transferable skills development, including human skills. Excellent ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, both internal (faculties, services, etc.) and external (community partners, private sector, etc.).
