The Senior Controls Engineer is responsible for providing technical support and services in the design, development, testing, production and operation of electrical equipment and systems, as outlined by the Manager.Role & Responsibilities:Program and debug structure text and ladder logic code on multiple PLC controller platforms (Allen Bradley, Bosch-Rexroth, Codesys)Develop code that is organized, structured, documents, maintainable and reusableUse AutoCAD Electrical to update design drawingsTroubleshoot mechanical, electrical issues during testing, on-site installation, and warranty callsStartup of AC drives, Servo Drives & cut-to-length systemsCreate robust programs and sequences to control complex, multi-station machinery to preform processes such roll forming, material handling, packagingSet high standards of performance, assume responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments or tasksFollow the engineering schedule for each project by establishing critical path deliverables for checking and ensure that the Master Production Schedule is not sacrificed due to late releases of engineeringEnsure efficient use of time and workflow by planning work and keeping work area organized and cleanCollaborate with supervisors and co-workers to ensure an on-time quality product and to accomplish work goalsMaintain positive and productive working relationships with manager, other shop workers, and engineering and office staffBe courteous and helpful when dealing with customers, suppliers and with coworkersMaintain effective performance under pressure. Handle stress in a manner that is acceptable to others and to the companyComply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and policies as outlined in the Company Health and Safety ManualMentor other employeesFollow all plant safety rulesComply with all company rules and regulations as outlined in the Employee HandbookFollow departmental processes required by ISO and actively participate in recommending improvementsFollow lockout/tagout procedures on live equipment before performing any workEngineering degree, undergraduate degree or College diploma in electrical or mechanical engineering or technology with emphasis on control systemsFive years Technologist experience working in an electrical controls fieldFive years PLC and HMI programming with more than one manufacturer platformFive years working extensively with RSLogix 5000 & 500 or Bosch Rexroth softwareAbility to use AutoCAD to modify design drawingsHMI and PLC Programming (multiple platforms)Debugging and trouble shootingProblem solvingDevice NetworkingAbility to use a multi meter to take measurementsAbility to use a scope measurementsAbility to manage timeEquipment integrationOtherAbility to travel up to 25% of the time or as neededAbility to work occasional weekend and/or evening as necessary in order to meet quality and due dates#J-18808-Ljbffr
