POSITION ID # 35175 Title: Director of Human Resources Location: GTA North (easy TTC & GO access) Work Model: On-Site – 4 days in office / 1 day remote Compensation: $120,000 – $150,000 base + bonus About Our Client Our client, a fast‑growing consumer products company in the beauty and personal care space with a portfolio of high‑performing brands, is seeking a Director of Human Resources to own and scale their people, payroll, and HR operations as the business continues to grow. This is a senior, hands‑on role for an HR leader who brings both the strategic perspective of a people executive and the ability to execute independently. You will operate as the sole HR leader , partnering closely with the executive team and playing a key role in shaping culture, talent strategy, and HR infrastructure across a North American workforce. Responsibilities Act as the sole HR leader supporting a North American workforce of approximately 90 employees Own the full employee lifecycle including recruiting, offers, onboarding, performance management, and retention Lead recruitment efforts for key roles, bringing a clear point of view on talent and driving hiring decisions through to close Partner directly with executive leadership, providing recommendations and perspective on people-related decisions Support compensation strategy, including benchmarking, offer structuring, and negotiation Lead performance management processes and coach managers on feedback, development, and accountability Act as a trusted advisor on employee relations, handling complex and sensitive situations with sound judgment Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, processes, and tools Ensure compliance with applicable Canadian and U.S. employment legislation Own bi‑weekly payroll processing for Canadian and U.S. employees Manage payroll through Ceridian Dayforce (Canada) and ADP (U.S.), ensuring accuracy and compliance Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll and benefits administration Qualifications 7+ years of progressive Human Resources experience in a corporate, CPG, beauty, or high‑growth consumer business Experience operating as a standalone HR leader or in a highly autonomous role Demonstrated ability to form opinions, make recommendations, and influence senior stakeholders Strong background in HR generalist leadership, employee relations, and people operationsExperience leading recruitment efforts and closing candidates in a fast‑paced environment Hands‑on experience with payroll, benefits, and HR compliance (Canada required; U.S. exposure an asset) Comfortable working in a lean, entrepreneurial environment with shifting priorities Confident communicator with the ability to engage and push back constructively with senior leadership Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or a related field Note AI may be used to support certain administrative aspects of our recruitment process.
