Job Description - Area Manager - Major Projects, Mining, Minerals and Metals (VAN00K8) Area Manager - Major Projects, Mining, Minerals and Metals - VAN00K8 Company: Worley Purpose We are currently recruiting for an Area Manager – Major Projects, Mining, Minerals and Metals. The role is a full‑time position based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Responsibilities Phase 1: FEED & Design Integration Constructability Reviews: Lead multi‑disciplinary teams to ensure design feasibility for the established terrain. Scope Definition: Finalise the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for your area, ensuring no gaps or overlaps between civil, mechanical and electrical packages. Package Management: Work with Procurement to develop technical bid evaluations (TBE) for packages under your responsibility. Cost Input: Provide high‑accuracy bottom‑up estimates for your area to support the Final Investment Decision (FID). Phase 2: Full Execution & Site Delivery Site Leadership: Move to the project site to act as the primary point of authority for your area. Interface Management: Manage the handshakes between the various stakeholders. Safety & Quality: Drive Worley’s Zero Harm culture on‑site. Ensure all work is delivered under specified standards. Schedule Ownership: Manage the Area Level 3 schedule. What you will bring Experience: Senior‑level experience in heavy civil or industrial construction. Phase Experience: Proven track record of taking a project area from the design office (FEED) into the field (Execution). Contract Knowledge: Strong understanding of EPC and EPCM contract forms. Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training Technical Background: B.Sc. in Civil, Mechanical or Mining Engineering. P.Eng. is preferred. Salary For applicants based in the province of British Columbia, the salary range is $166,876 to $225,774 CAD. Variation in salary is determined by factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
