We are currently seeking a Software Developer to join our front‑end and rapidly growing engineering teams. The role is available to candidates local to one of our hubs (Burnaby or Calgary) and expects you to be in the office at least twice per week on Anchor Days. What your team does As a Software Engineer on our Design Systems team, you’ll build reusable front‑end components that power a consistent, accessible, and scalable user experience across all of Clio’s products. On our Front‑End Infrastructure team you will support engineering teams and work across a constantly evolving landscape. By shaping our company‑wide component library with technologies like HTML, CSS, Tailwind, and Web Components, you’ll help deliver a cohesive interface that supports Clio’s mission to transform the legal experience for all. A day in the life Work with developers to solve complex problems and provide elegant solutions to Clio customers Operate in an agile environment with full‑stack teams across a variety of projects Learn new technologies, challenge yourself, and use a wide variety of tech Collaborate on diverse projects with teams across three countries Review and provide feedback on peer code, both within your team and across Clio What you may have Experience in software development, building web applications at scale, and knowledge of Ruby on Rails Rapid mastery of new technologies and effective work in a dynamic environment with distributed teams and customers Demonstrated mentorship in software development, especially using an Agile process and for large‑scale SaaS products Experience with large‑scale systems A broad knowledge base that allows you to help your team solve complex technical problems Interest in improving your craft with AI A portfolio of successful projects (and lessons learned from failures) Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with colleagues and customers Serious bonus points if you have Design systems experience Experience with web components What you will find here Compensation is a core component of Clio’s Total Rewards Program. There are separate salary bands for other regions based on local currency. Our salary bands reflect the range of skills and experience needed for the position and allow room for growth. For experienced individuals, we typically hire at or around the midpoint of the band; the top portion is reserved for employees who demonstrate sustained high performance and impact. Those new to the role may start below the midpoint and develop skills over time. The final offer will depend on geography, experience, and skill set.
