Job Title GCP Cloud Architect Location Toronto, ON (3x onsite a week) Employment Type Contract Pay Range CA$50.00/hr - CA$65.00/hr Job Description We are seeking an experienced GCP Cloud Architect with strong expertise in designing and implementing scalable data solutions on Google Cloud Platform. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience in building ETL workflows using Spark Serverless and Spark on GKE, along with proficiency in GCP‑native services for data processing, monitoring, and governance. Key Responsibilities Architect and design cloud‑native solutions on GCP for data processing and analytics. Design ETL workflows leveraging Spark Serverless and Spark on GKE for large‑scale data pipelines. Optimize data storage and querying using BigQuery and CloudSQL. Ensure robust data governance, quality, and lineage across all data platforms. Implement logging and monitoring solutions using Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring, and Stackdriver. Establish alerting and observability practices for data workflows and infrastructure. Enforce best practices for data security, compliance, and governance within GCP environments. Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable and reliable solutions. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members on GCP best practices. Required Skills And Qualifications Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform architecture and services. Hands‑on experience with Spark Serverless and Spark on GKE for ETL workflows. Proficiency in BigQuery, CloudSQL, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, and GCP‑native data services. Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and data lineage frameworks in GCP. Experience implementing Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring, and observability tools. Strong problem‑solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Qualifications GCP Professional Cloud Architect certification. Experience with Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with data security and compliance standards such as GDPR and HIPAA.
