The Leo's team is looking for an AWESOME Sous Chef to join the Leo's Transcona back‑of‑house team. The role is hands‑on in operations, people leadership, and decision‑making, with the opportunity to build real leadership experience and grow into a future Kitchen Manager. What You’ll Be Doing Support and lead teammates at all times and contribute to team success. Assist day‑to‑day operation of Leopold’s Tavern under direction of the Kitchen Manager, including all kitchen and back‑of‑house areas. Maintain highest standard in food safety. Determine stock needs, interact with vendors, monitor sales, and manage inventory. Recruit, train and oversee all BOH employees, maintain shift schedules and performance records. Communicate promotions, supervise staff, and educate on brand standards. Place orders with suppliers, keep abreast of specials, practices and manager communication. Delegate tasks, manage staff hours (cut times) and assist with scheduling and ordering. Ensure every item served meets Leo’s brand standards of quality and specification. What We’re Looking For Minimum of two years of kitchen experience in hospitality. Minimum of one year of supervising/leadership experience in a kitchen setting. Experience with ordering, scheduling, and inventory management. Demonstrated use of standard purchasing and supervision practices for up to 10 employees. Lead team, think on feet, embrace change, maintain composure in high‑pressure situations. Work well in a team and ensure a positive kitchen environment. Coachable, hard working, reliable. Able to write routine reports and correspondence. Effective communication skills. Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation. Must be awesome. Benefits Competitive wages and excellent tips.
